This project is put together by Pratt’s Center for Careerand Professional Development (formerly Career Services). Our office focuses on two aspects of
professional development: who you are (as a professional) and what you do (your
career). We work with students and
alumni by providing counseling, resources, exposure, information, and events that help cultivate who you are and math this with
what you do so your creative pursuits evolve into professional realities.
The Center for Career and Professional Development manages
the Student Affairs Exhibition Spaces: EastOne Gallery (Career Services), the
FishBowl (Student Lounge) and Alcove Gallery (Student Affairs/Student
Involvement) in an effort to provide more opportunities to exhibit work. In Spring 2012, The FishBowl Gallery will
host an exhibition of sketchbooks made by the Pratt Community called the Pratt
Sketchbook Project.
The Pratt Sketchbook Project was inspired by the Art HouseCoop Sketchbook Project founded in Georgia in 2006 (now located in Brooklyn). Much like the Sketchbook Project started by
the Art House Coop, Pratt’s version will be an amalgamation of work by various
creative individuals. The Pratt
Sketchbook Project is an opportunity to see your work in amongst the work of
others at Pratt and hopes to draw submissions from across disciplines,
departments, and age groups. The exhibition
will be interactive and the content will be entirely generated by where its
participants take it. As sketchbooks are
returned, a sneak peek of the work will be available on this website.
Pick up your sketchbook today in Career Services and let
your imagination run wild.
